Honduras believes in child education. They require all students to attend school til the 5th grade, however with the remote villages it is hard to enforce. Thus, many families that cannot afford uniforms and supplies for their kids will keep them home. They also have them stop going to school so they can work and support the family. We have groups building schools and supplying them with educational materials, as well as sponsoring kids to go to higher education. Unfortunately for higher education they have to leave their village, and a lot of them do not return to the villages once they leave. Our goal is to get all villages better access to higher education to allow these students to stay home or closer to home to help their villages flourish in the future.
